The traditions of Theta Sigma Tau Scavenger Hunt (part of Live-In Weekend)
One of the activities held during Live-In Weekend that had been a tradition for a long, long time was the Scavenger Hunt. Held on Saturday afternoon, each pledge, along with their big brother or sister, was asked to collect as many of the items on the scavenger hunt list as possible in the time allotted. Members without Littles became the judges and rate the items collected by the various teams. Scores were based upon how closely an item matches what was asked for on the list and how creative the teams' items were.
We used to have an example of an item from the Scavenger Hunt, but it has been removed to permit its continued use.
Several of the items on the scavenger hunt are clues that should lead the teams to various house members. Each of these house members had a slip of paper with a part of the Creed printed on it and the pledges needed to get all the different parts of the Creed and place them in order. At the judging they recited the Creed to the judges, from memory earns more points, but if they had to read from the scraps, that's okay.
There were usually not any specific prize for the winners, just the knowledge that they kicked the other teams' collective butts.
