Summer 2013 (Ripon Magazine)

Peter Powers '64 of Newport, OR, died March 28, 2013. His family traveled extensively when he was young and visited many states and countries. He attended schools in Geneva, Switzerland; Beirut, Lebanon; and Evanston, IL. At Ripon he studied French and Philosophy. He received a law degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout the northwest, Alaska, Hawai'i, and Mexico. He practiced law in Albany and Newport. He retired from law practice and became a charter boat captain with his own boat, The Steadfast, on the Oregon coast. Survivors include two sons and one daughter.
