- Robert B. Furman '41 of Plymouth, WI, died March 12, 2002. He was the former president and chair of the board of the State Bank of Howard's Grove, a position he held for 23 years before retiring in 1988. His banking career spanned more than 40 years. While at Ripon he was in ROTC and he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, receiving a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion, the Sheboygan Elks BPOE Lodge, the Sheboygan Noon Rotary Club, and the State Bankers' Association where he had served on the executive council from 1981-84. He was also a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne, a son and a daughter.
