- "Robert C. Candlish '44 of Grafton, WI died Jan. 9. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge as a first lieutenant in World War II. He was a member of the Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors, Board of Education, Rotary Club, Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge and a past president of the Jaycees. He was a retired owner/president of Candlish Funeral Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, a son, a daughter, and three step-children."
