- Philip Erwin Biege '41 of Enumclaw, Wash., died Feb. 12, 2010. He was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Baraboo, Wis. At Ripon he studied history and economics. He entered the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1941, and when war was declared in December, he enlisted in the Army and remained in the service until he returned to the law school in 1946. He continued in the Army Reserve for 30 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He began his law career in Alaska and settled in Enumclaw, Wash. He retired from the practice of law in 1999 after serving the community for 50 years. He was active in numerous city activities, including as City Attorney for many years. He also served as a member of the board of directors, treasurer, president, and chairman of the board for Mutual of Enumclaw; the board and vice chairman of First National Bank of Enumclaw; and a member of the Green River Community College Board Foundation. He loved to travel. Survivors include two sons.
